Since 1902, Ferncliff Cemetery has been providing families with a variety of choices for cremation memorialization

Ferncliff Cemetery provides cremation memorialization options both indoors, in our beautiful community mausolea, and outdoors, in our tranquil memorial gardens.

Cremation, like traditional burial, should not be considered an end, but a beginning of the preparation for permanent placement of a loved one. In 80% of all cremations a memorial service is held prior to, or directly after, the cremation takes place.

Permanent memorialization creates a lasting memorial and place of pilgrimage for present and future generations to pay respect to your loved one. It serves to preserve your family’s heritage. Memorialization is also the tangible realization of the personal emotional journey, uniquely yours, which you experience when someone you love dies. It becomes a meaningful and unique symbol that bonds you and your loved one forever, preserving memories and providing a lasting expression of love and devotion. It provides a place of quietude for you to visit to gain peace of mind and heart. By interring those cherished remains, you pay respect to your past and link yourself forever to future generations.

Ferncliff Cemetery offers

Distinctive Cremation
Memorialization Options

Bench & Bench Estates

This unique option accommodates up to four sets of cremated remains which are placed inside the foundation of the bench. The bench estate offers families a distinct opportunity to have their own personal memorial area. The names and dates will be inscribed on the granite panel on the garden side of the memorial bench or on a memorial plaque, depending on the garden selected.

Cremation Estate with Pillow Marker

A slanted pillow marker sets at the head of each Cremation Estate which also features four granite tablets. With this option, cremated remains are placed in the ground below each tablet. The memorialization is placed on a plaque on the face of the granite tablet. Cremation Estates also come with a pillow marker and bench.

Cremation Niches

Ferncliff Cemetery offers a variety of niche options that include bronze front niches, glass front niches, and marble front niches.

Cremorial

This quality option can accommodate two cremated remains beneath each bronze memorial. The bronze memorial has space for name, year of birth, and year of death for each individual.

Cremation Pedestals

These distinctive memorials will accommodate a number of cremated remains. The urns will be placed inside the base of the pedestal and the memorialization of those interred will be inscribed into the granite top or a bronze plaque will be attached to the base depending on the type and location of the pedestal.

Indoor Cremation Garden

This innovative garden offers a quality option for memorializing a loved one in an indoor garden setting.

Single Grave Spaces for Cremation Memorialization

There are two burial rights that come with a Hickory Terrace grave. In addition to providing space for two full body interments, a family may choose to use the space for two cremated remains or for one body and one cremated remains. Vaults are required for full body interments.

Urn Vault

Is a standalone memorial for two cremated remains. The burials take place inside the memorial beneath the bronze plaque. The memorial seals the top.
