2021 Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Cancelled

Dear Friends & Family:

It is with great disappointment that I write to notify you that Ferncliff has again cancelled its Annual Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, December 4, 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

With Covid-19 variants creating increasing uncertainty and controversy among both public officials and the general public, Ferncliff is concerned that a large public gathering such as the Tree Lighting may not be permitted or may have to significantly limit its number of attendees. Furthermore, arrangements with the various vendors that service the Tree Lighting must be finalized starting Wednesday, September 1.

As I wrote last year, the holiday season is one of the more difficult times for those of us who have lost a family member or friend and cancelling this special event will prevent us from celebrating together the holiday season and the cherished memories of those who have blessed our lives.

Hopefully, by September 2022, the public health environment will have fully returned to normal and Ferncliff will be able to resume holding its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony the first Saturday evening in December.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I wish all of you a joyous and peaceful 2021 holiday season as well as a happy and healthy new year.

I look forward to seeing all of you again next December.

Sincerely,
Ferncliff Cemetery Association
